One of my newest photos. This is a ship leaving the port of Duluth, MN. To the left of the image would've been the Duluth Arial Lift Bridge, but trying to include it seemed to detract from the shot rather than help it. Keeping the land out of this image gives it an "unknown journey" feeling. Some criticism I've had on the shot was that the subject should be traveling into the frame not out of it. I tried a few shots like that, but would lose the sunlight streaming down onto the lake when I did. Which to me is what makes the photo so special.
